Today, to God’s glory, we complete our 5 part study on the 5 Solas of the Reformation by looking at the final point: Soli Deo Gloria.
Soli Deo Gloria
This month will see the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation culminating in Martin Luther’s nailing of his 95 Theses onto the door of the Wittenberg Church on October 31st. To help celebrate we are dedicating 5 episodes to the 5 Solas of the Reformation. The 5 Solas helped declare the basis of the Reformation’s core beliefs about salvation. They are:
- Sola Gratia (by Grace Alone)
- Sola Fide (through Faith Alone)
- Solus Christus (in Christ Alone)
- Sola Scriptura (according to Scripture Alone)
- Soli Deo Gloria (for God’s Glory Alone)
This is our 5th and final week and we end on the big one Soli Deo Gloria… or Salvation is obtained for God’s Glory Alone. This almost seemed like and after-thought in the Solas but when we study it closely we find it is the power of the entire structure. The Father will be glorified through our salvation, and this is the entire point of His love for us.
