Jesus quotes Isaiah when explaining why he was taught in parables. It almost sounds like he didn’t want Israel to understand. What was this about? Today we’ll look into Romans to help us get our heads around it.

The Unbelief of Israel

It can be confusing to hear Jesus say, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables, so that they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be forgiven.” (Mark 4:11-12)

It almost sounds like he didn’t want them to believe him. And although he wanted desperate for them to believe him and embrace him… there’s a very good and beautiful reason why they couldn’t. Today we are going to talk about Israel being unable to embrace Jesus while he was on the Earth, but how much more glorious it will be when they do.
